Artist Story - Stephanie of Love Designs

What inspired the name of your business? 
My business name “Love Designs” is purely inspired by “Love” and to design with love, to celebrate love.

What is the story behind why you started your business?
My academic background is not in graphic design, but a leap of faith brought me to take on a graphic design position with basic design skills in the food and beverage industry with my family. After 7 years of conquering the restaurant business, I stepped away to start a family. While pregnant with my first son, I was faced with what to do after maternity leave ends. It came down to re-entering the work force or starting my own business. The business concept behind Love Designs came about when I was looking at decorating my son’s nursery. After searching of décor with specific/custom ideas in mind, and not able to find anything locally I decided to put my graphic design skills to work and put together some artwork and personalized prints, which received many compliments from family and friends, and even orders! This sparked my passion to start my own graphic design business to design at an affordable rate for everyone!

What is the dream that you wish to fund through your business?
I hope that through my art, I can help families document life’s simple moments and celebrate milestones throughout their lifetime! When you gift our products, you are gifting a keepsake of love and memories.
 
What are you most proud of about your business? 
I am most proud knowing that our customers love and enjoy our products. It motivates me to keep designing new products and designs! I am so grateful as I have the best customers whom always take the time to send me photos of our products in action.

How have you grown as a person as a result of your business? 
Running a business has really made me step outside my comfort zone and gain new life experiences and ways to enhance the way I run my business. The best way to learn is via trial and error. You never know until you try!

What difference does your art make in your life, and your family’s life? 
Art plays a very important role in my life as designing is my creative outlet. It allows me temporarily escape reality and let my creative juices flow. Running a small business with 2 young children has so many challenges, but art and design allows me to find a better balance and organization!
