Barefoot Books believes that the welfare of our children is dependent on the welfare of the planet, so they source paper from sustainably managed forests and constantly strive to reduce their environmental impact. Barefoot Books was started by two moms in England in 1992. Since the beginning, they wanted to create visually captivating books that celebrate diversity, spark curiosity and capture children’s imaginations. Their mission has endured over the decades and feels more relevant today than it has ever been. Together, they have grown into a vibrant and diverse community focused on sharing books and gifts that inspire children to be compassionate, creative and curious.Barefoot Books give back in many ways. They are committed to living the kindness and compassion they celebrate in their books. They contribute and donate books towards: Raising a Reader, a US early literacy and family engagement organization, Books For Africa and have distributed 300,000 books to orphans and vulnerable children affected by AIDS in Mozambique, BookTrust to get every baby in England and Wales a copy of Baby Play as part of their annual Bookstart Baby packs and so much more.
