Where did the name of your business come from?
The name Midnight Paloma has two parts to it. Our first collection was charcoal based, hence Midnight. Paloma is a name I've always been drawn to and it was the inspiration behind our first scent blend: blood orange, lime, vanilla and grapefruit.
What is the story behind why you started your business?
Midnight Paloma started really organically. I owned a small boutique for years and kept seeing amazing brands coming out of Vancouver. Having been in the beauty industry for so long it just felt like a natural transition to start my own line. What started out as a passion project soon lead to a full time brand. After we closed our store, I poured myself into it and have loved every minute.
What is the dream that you wish to fund through your business?
To create awareness of clean beauty and self care.
How have you grown as a person as a result of your business?
Owning a business teaches you so many things. You wear a lot of different hats, which is one part I enjoy but it can also feel overwhelming. The thing I've learned over the years is patience is key. Its something you need to embrace in all the aspects of business.
What are you most proud of about your business?
To create something and to have people respond to it is one of the most rewarding things I've ever felt in my life. It's a feeling unlike anything else!
What difference does your art make in your life?
For me being creative is something I get so much pleasure out of. It really feeds me as a person.
If you could say one thing to the person that buys and/or enjoys your art, what would it be?
Thank you for supporting my business and family!
