I like pretty rocks and crystals and always found myself at these stores. Collecting crystals and stones is fun but its cool to re-purpose them into something you don't see often. I also love the fact that I can create jewelry that carries healing properties specific to the stones.

We are two friends with a true love for all things natural and over 20 years experience combined creating natural products and skin care lines. Having kids ourselves and knowing the amazing benefits of essential oils, we wanted to create a wellness line that would give children the opportunity to try (and enjoy!) natural remedies safely.

Midnight Paloma started really organically. I owned a small boutique for years and kept seeing amazing brands coming out of Vancouver. Having been in the beauty industry for so long it just felt like a natural transition to start my own line.

Nature always inspires me and I think essential oils are amazing. My family was dealing with so many skin sensitivities, so I started making my own face cream free of fragrance and chemicals that our skin wouldn't tolerate. The business quickly grew from there.

I love birds, and I found out that juncos are sometimes considered to be symbols of movement and change in your life, as well as a sense of playfulness and adventure. This felt perfect for my business name ...it also aligns with my creative process: I transform photography from my travel adventures into vibrant, textural and often playful digital art.

What is the story behind why you started your business?
The story of Konisa began after I graduated from Industrial Design. After a year of focusing on launching my grad project into production, I shifted my focus to working on what I really wanted to do: create handmade local wood products, sustainable projects and authentic design innovations.
