Teacher Appreciation Day in the USA is on Tuesday, May 7th. Teacher's Appreciation Day is a day for honouring teachers and recognizing the lasting contributions they make to our lives.
From our research, we don't seem to have the same of celebration in Canada. There is one day at the start of October to recognize teachers but that is so close to the beginning of the school year that no one will remember it. So this year, we say let's celebrate in May!
We were inspired to research the official day to celebrate teachers, after a mom came into the store last week and bought candles for her kids' teachers. I asked if she was going to wait until the end of the year to give them and she said "NO WAY, the teachers deserve them now. Especially, the one who teaches my son, he's a bit harder. You know what I mean?" Of course, I do! I have a couple of the "bit harder" type of kid too!
So let's surprise our kids' teachers with a gift when they aren't expecting it! Something special to show them how much we appreciate their hard work all year. Here is a link to our our top picks for teachers gifts this year.
